Fuel usage update.
We filled up with Diesel at
ASDA for £1.367 per litre ($2.20) as supermarket
servos are usually cheaper than elsewhere. That equates to filling up at Woolies
Caltex or Coles Express in Australia
except that diesel fuel in Australia
is about $1.54.
On our last tank full, which
included a lot of city driving, we achieved 4.72 litres per 100klms. Can’t complain about
that.
Morning
After quite a warm night we awoke to a cloudy day which turned very warm and sunny.
After quite a warm night we awoke to a cloudy day which turned very warm and sunny.
We decided to visit Muriel who
was the partner of John Lackey, deceased, who was previously married to my
mother’s half sister, Dorothy, (deceased). (I think I got that right!).
She didn’t live far from our
hotel so the trip was relatively short.
Muriel has a daughter Sue who
is living in the USA with
her husband and son and also another daughter, Linda, living in Spain with her
husband. She also has a son, Andrew, who lives here in Nottingham
with his wife two daughters.
She was in very good health
and we had a pleasant reunion and took some photos before returning to our
hotel as Mick’s friend, Keith, was meeting us at our hotel to say goodbye.

Afternoon
Keith arrived at our hotel at
1.30pm and we sat chatting in the very pleasant surroundings of the huge
entrance area under a huge glass roof for a couple of hours whilst having coffee and sandwiches.
At about 3.45pm, we bade
Keith farewell as tomorrow we were leaving Nottingham heading to Gloucester.
Family of Geese outside
the hotel. Lyn said they would run away, instead they just about ran Mick
over!
