Yet another very warm day
forecast and we had a lie in before driving to the Ellesmere Tesco supermarket
to replace some of the food we had consumed whilst we are staying with Mick’s
relatives.
We got a voucher for 5p (8c)
per litre off petrol at the Tesco petrol stations after spending more than £50
($80). A la Coles and Woolworths.
After stowing the shopping we
went to lunch at the beautiful Plassey Restaurant in refurbished stables in the country.
We ordered toasted sandwiches which arrived beautifully presented with salad
containing about 10 different ingredients. Very nice.
After lunch we all returned
home and Mick went down to Geoff’s wood yard for an afternoon cuppa and a chat.
After dinner in the evening
we all went out to see the Aqueduct from below and watched some canoers
paddling across it.
We then drove through
Llangollen to the Chainbridge Hotel for a swift half pint taking some nice photos of
the River Dee which runs past the Hotel. When leaving we stopped at a spot on
the river which has some nice rapids which Geoff’s son used to kayak over.
We had a busy day in the
heat. Keep the fire going Joyce.
A Nissan Juke, would that be Juke Box?

Carved tree
A folly. A Folly is a castle like building built to satisfy a fancy or conceit often of an eccentric kind, unquote.

Crow Castle. Mick and Geoff walked to the top.
