Tuesday 13 August 2013. Pitlochry. Rest day

We awoke this morning feeling like a rest after yesterdays busy time which was packed full of surprises.

Lyn decided she needed to hit the shops as one of the reasons she was happy to return to Pitlochry was that the prices of exactly the same Cashmere items were quite a bit less than in Edinburgh, where the Asian tourists were buying up big.

Mick decided to stay at the hotel and catch up on his newspaper reading which always seems to take a back seat. He also needed to book accommodation for our next two stops before we return to Newcastle in readiness for our week in the Isle-of Man.

Since our WiFi is useless in our room, which is often the case with these thick walled old English buildings, Mick had to sit in the hotel lounge downstairs to get a signal. This often involved long conversations with other guests passing through who are mostly oldies here for the theatre shows.

In the evening we walked into the village and found a restaurant serving home made salmon cakes which were almost up to Lyn’s standard.

Today was mostly sunny with no rain.We are looking out for meteor showers tonight which are apparently around.
