Weather very cloudy early with sunny patches and some spots of rain in the air.
Today, in Inverness, we had a quiet day and went into the city centre to have a look around. Mick had prepared half a dozen jpgs on an SD card of us with his Nottingham relatives so that we could get them printed at Boots and then post them to the relatives who aren't online.
We drove straight in and went into the underground carpark at the Eastgate Shopping Centre. The cost of parking was £2 ($3.20) for up to 4 hours.
After we had lodged the photos for 1 hour printing at 25p (41c) each, we went off to explore the shops. (You can get prints done immediately but that costs 39p (63c) each.). Those prices are much more expensive that in Australia where you can get 6x4 prints done at the big stores for 10c (6p) each.
Whilst in town we walked to the railway station which was quite small and then the bus depot. Both places were quite busy with tourists lugging bags around. Much better to have your own car. And you don't get told you have to get up at 5am to be on the bus by 6am. Lyn couldn't hack that.
After collecting and posting the prints and buying our dinner from M & S (last nights dinner cost us £30), we went for a drive to look at the Kessock Bridge which crosses the Moray Firth on it's eastern side and the Beuly Firth which is on the western side. The traffic seemed to be banked up quite badly and it was only 4pm.
Then back to the Travelodge which unfortunately is right alongside the A96 which travels up to Nairn so it is a bit noisy and even the double glazing doesn't stop it completely. Oh, and it's costing £87 ($140) per night with no breakfast or WiFi. When you sign onto the Travelodge web site the first thing you see is an advert for rooms at £19.
