Saturday 18th May 2013 - London. Greenwich, Cutty Sark

Lyn had a good nights sleep and awoke feeling a little better but we had decided to have an easy day as her breathing became laboured if exerting herself too much. Joyce, Mick's sister, kindly phoned from Australia to see how Lyn was going and to tell her to take it easy as well.

We decided to go to Greenwich to see the Cutty Sark, a British Clipper built in 1869. As it turned out we probably spent more time getting there and back than we did at Greenwich however we had to minimise our walking due to Lyn's breathlessness.

We didn't make it to the Royal Observatory due to Lyn's breathing difficulties. This is where the Greenwich Meridian Line, Longitude 0°, is the centre of world time, defined by transit instrument and line across the Observatory courtyard. The observatory unfortunately was up on a hill as was London's only Planetarium with walking the only way to get there and Mick wanted to straddle the line that divides East and West. Anyway we wandered around the town taking in the Greenwich Markets which were very interesting. We got back home about 3.15pm so Lyn could put her feet up.

Might watch the Eurovision song contest tonight. I can hear your groans from here! Bonnie Tyler is singing for England. She's got to be better than Englebert was last year. (She wasn't - Ed)
